Q: How are your sleep sacks adjustable?

Our sleeping sacks are adjustable in length, designed to grow with your baby so you can use them for much longer. Our Smartsnap system in the back allows you to fold the sleep sack and securely snap it in the back until your child needs more room. Each size grows by 6 inches. This gives your baby a better, safer fit & means many extra months of use.  Our goal is to help parents and babies create a familiar sleep environment they can depend on, and keep longer.

Q: What are your sleep sacks made of?

They are made by hand with natural & locally sourced materials. The inside is undyed/unbleached 100% cotton jersey spun in LA (soft like a t-shirt). The outside is plush cotton velour, which is  80% cotton & 20% polyester for fluff & fast drying, 100% poplin cotton (printed in LA) on the outside print, & 100% cotton piping. The quilting is called polydown (made in Texas) which is warm but breathable and dries fast in the dryer or on the line.

Q: Are there chemical treatments on the fabric?

Never! Our sleep sacks are rigorously tested in an independent lab to meet or exceed US quality, flammability, and safety standards for infant garments. They are certified free of flame retardants, lead and chemical dyes.

Q: Where are your products made?

La Petite Chose is handmade in the USA. We work with a very small group of sewers who make the sleepsacks from start to finish in-house. I do all the design, patterns, fabric sourcing, packing & shipping myself in Seattle. It's kind of the sewing version of the Slowfood movement :-)

In the past we have worked in partnership with an unusually fantastic maker near Shanghai who also produces well-known European baby brands. They adhere to the strictest European and US safety regulations, working hand in hand with independent laboratories for product safety and quality testing.

Q: Is there a temperature rating on this sleeping bag?

We offer two versions, our classic and our newer lightweight. The TOG of the classic is a 2.5, suitable for all year round except the hottest days of summer. It's designed to keep your baby warm in a cooler room. Our lightweight version is a TOG 1.0. It's best for babies in consistently warmer climates or babies who simply 'sleep hotter'. Pediatricians have found babies sleep more safely and comfortably when they are cozy in a slightly cooler temperature. Add or remove pajamas under the sleep sack to adjust to your baby's room. Here is a temperature chart for the classic weight to help!

Q: Do you make a lighter, summer sleep sack?

Yes! Called 'lightweight'.  I love to hear from parents about what would make their lives easier & got quite a few requests for this so I made one. We usually just put our babies to bed in footie pajamas in the hottest weeks of the summer, then transitioned back into a lighter pajama with the sleep sack on top when the nights cooled down.  Email me if you're hesitating between the two and I can help you decide.

Q: I am ordering this as a gift. How is it packaged? Can you include a message?

Perfect! La Petite Chose makes a great baby shower/new parent gift-- it always gets passed around, petted (it's very soft), and oohed & aahed. I pack each order myself in Seattle so your sleepsack will arrive carefully folded and tied with a natural cotton cord, & wrapped in tissue paper. It will also include a hand-written gift note.  You can enter a gift message if you check the option 'giftwrap' at checkout or email your message to us

Q: I love the little tote bag! Can I order one?

We work with small production runs and at this point have not printed and sewn extras. Please email us and we'd be happy to set aside a printed tote from the next round!  Our new, handmade collection comes folded and wrapped with a cotton cord (like this!) instead of in a tote bag.

Q: How are these shipped?

Always FREE SHIPPING within the U.S. We ship within 2 working days of receiving your order and, depending on where you are in the States, you will receive your package in less than a week. We ship most everywhere in the world so don't hesitate to ask!
